Matthew is a Psychologist who is passionate about empowering people, especially adolescents and young adults, to improve their mental health, physical health, and inter-personal relationships, through education and behaviour change.
Matt studied a Bachelor of Science (with major studies in Psychology and Physiology), a Postgraduate Diploma of Psychology, and a Master of Psychology (Health), and has been studying a Graduate Diploma of Young People’s Mental Health. For more than a decade, Matt has served the Australian community at leading public and private mental health care institutions in Victoria, South Australia, and the Australian Capital Territory.
Matt has assisted hundreds of clients suffering from anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, personality disorders, difficulties with anger, stress, and grief, psychotic disorders, bipolar disorders, eating disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, somatic symptom disorders, sleep disorders, difficulties with substance use, and various addictions. Matt has also assisted hundreds of clients experiencing inter-personal relationship difficulties, vocational challenges, and major life transitions such as being diagnosed with a terminal illness. He is passionate about working with culturally- and linguistically-diverse clients, including migrants and refugees.
Using various techniques originating primarily from Cognitive-Behavioural Therapies, and with a Christian ethos, Matt collaborates with his clients in a natural and authentic dialogue, from which insight gained and actions taken can generate real and beneficial changes in the lives of his clients.
